Zeke at home

Hi everyone!

I am so sorry we haven't emailed in so long! Zeke is doing really well. He was hospitalized again a couple of weeks ago and we found out he has a urinary tract infection but is home now and doing just fine. We have many, many praise reports. As most of you know, he did a lot better at birth than most of the doctors thought he would do. Well, do to prayers and a faithful God, he has continued on that track. He is beginning to hold his head up, can hold a rattle, and can roll from his side to his back. We also have some other very exciting news--he is off of the Haberman bottle and taking all real bottles now!

If you have ever wondered if God answers prayer, I just ask that you look at our baby. Before Zeke was born, Brian and I constantly heard "Oh, the doctors don't know what they're talking about" but the fact of the matter is Zkee's progress does not match his MRI. The doctors DO know what they are talking about, but God is determining Zeke's future--not them. It is a real test of faith to visit the neurologist and hear her concerns and still know that God is in control. Ezekiel may never be able to walk or talk--but if that happens we know that it was because it was God's plan for his life, not because of any defect his brain has. We are coming to a place in this trial where we are realizing that God didn't pick our baby and decide to punish him or punish us--but he had Ezekiel planned a long time ago--just the way he is--and for some reason feels like we are worthy of being his caretakers on Earth. Zeke is God's baby. :-)

Thank you just doesn't seem like enough for your diligence in prayer. I've had more than one person who I've never even met come to me and tell me that they pray for him everyday. We humbly ask that you continue to pray--God is hearing your prayers. We ask that you pray for his vision--he is beginning to track with his eyes some, but there is still concern about his vision. We also ask for prayer as his ventricles are still enlarged. The neurosurgeons think this is because his brain his underdeveloped, but they are going ton continue to run tests to make sure the shunt is fully working. We also ask that you pray that God will continue to increase our faith as his parents.

We love you all and praise God for you.
